Following our very successful walk last year, on Friday 20th July 2018 from 11.15am we will be having a family walk and picnic up the Queen's View - a hill just north of Glasgow, which has the Whangie rock at the top.
The walk is fun for all the family and will probably take about an hour up and 45 mins down (with a picnic lunch in the middle).
We will meet in the Queen's View car park on the A809 north of Bearsden at 11.00am. Once you get out of Bearsden into the countryside, past the BP garage after the dry ski slope, keep going. You will see the Carbeth Inn pub on your right and the Eden Mill Christmas tree farm on your left, and the car park is soon after on the left hand side.
You can also come by train via Milngavie station - please contact us if you need information about this or a lift.
We will be done by around 2.30pm depending on weather and how long we linger.
Last year we did this as a sponsored walk. This year we are not doing that, but now might be a good time for you to make a donation to the group if you feel like doing that - our Golden Giving button is to the right.
But what we really want is YOU!!
If the weather looks to be wet, please check back here on the day for updates.
boots / shoes you can walk in on rough terrain (open toes / your best stillettos not a good idea!) Trainers or wellies are OK but the more grip the better.
clothes you don't mind getting muddy if it's wet
sun cream if the sun is shining
a picnic lunch and perhaps something to sit on
drinks / snacks
a change of trousers / shoes for afterwards in case kids get wet (we can leave these in the cars at the bottom)
a backpack to carry these things if possible - much better than carrying a bag.
